GET INVOLVED IN OUTREACH

"Building community through service"

The mission of Outreach at Grace Church is to build community through service. Here you will find many outreach activities, both within and outside of Grace Church, which address issues surrounding homelessness and hunger. We are part of a consortium of organizations dedicated to improving the lives of fellow New Yorkers in need called "Partners in Grace." These organizations provide assistance at many levels:
  • Supplying basic needs, food, clothing shelter

  • Providing education and support

  • Advocating for those in need in government and in the community.
We invite you to investigate the ways your skills may be put to use for those who need our support and partnership. Volunteers are needed at the organizations listed below. Feel free to contact any of these organizations directly to arrange to volunteer or to contribute. If possible, also email outreach@gracechurchnyc.org to let us know when and where you have signed up to volunteer.

Grace Church Open Door - The Ministry of Hospitality

"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it." -Hebrews 13:2

Open Door is a group of volunteer parishioners who give freely of their time to keep the church open on weekends. Our volunteers make it possible for thousands of visitors to experience the beauty of Grace Church from within its peaceful walls. From tourists, to long-time neighbors, to new students, to the homeless, there is always an abundance of awe and serenity from those who pass through our doors.

This vital ministry, the Ministry of Hospitality, of simply opening our doors and our hearts to the community, could not exist without the volunteers. Please consider giving two hours per month to come and sit in the church, answering a few visitors' questions. To volunteer for Open Door or to find out more information, contact Bill Nave in the parish office:
