Advent Meditation by Melinda Weir
Psalm 126.
When I first heard the news of the Pfizer vaccine I was, as I’m sure were we all, extremely happy. Later that day however, with no apparent trigger, I started to cry. The “light at the end of the tunnel” brought home again just how horrible this long, sad time has been for all of humanity and how heavy a weight we have all been carrying. We never carried it alone, and we never were alone, but it has been hard. Today’s reading with its “songs of joy” and “mouths filled with laughter” help remind me that God is with us in darkness and light, and he provides nourishment to our souls in both.
