I am a sculptor…by profession and an artist by routine.
During this time of the Pandemic…I have been walking to work [my studio] which is about 1.5 miles from my house. I take pictures with my cell phone along the way…and I am so taken with all I see. I hope to put together a picture book titled “Walking To Work.”
My drawings…charcoal on paper have matured. I take old drawings that I thought finished and rework them. Layering new charcoal marks on top of the old…and I keep layering until the drawing seems new.
My sculpture has changed in that I am working with slabs of clay instead of armatures…The Black Lives Matter…matters to me and my most recent sculpture is of George Floyd.
I was able to go to NYC for 3 days…2 of which I spent at the Metropolitan Museum…the place I missed the most. I visited Rembrandt!
leehutt.com is my website.
