Dear Friends,
Earlier this week I was reading a review of a new book about Abraham Lincoln: And There Was Light, by Jon Meacham. The reviewer writes that one particularly enjoyable part of the book describes Lincoln’s habits of church attendance. When he went, he would go to the nearby Presbyterian church because he liked the minister. Specifically, he appreciated that the minister did not delve into politics, but stuck to the gospel. Lincoln said that he had more than enough of politics, every hour of every week.
