Grace Church Legacy Society
We invite you to join the Grace Church Legacy Society.
Grace Church is the work of many generations, meant to last for the ages. Our beautiful, historic, and sacred space exists today because, since the building opened in 1846, generous legacy givers have remembered the church in their estate planning, and left gifts to sustain the structure. Guided by the Holy Spirit, they designated Grace Church as the beneficiary of bequests – financial, real estate, and other gifts – that have enabled us always to be a place where worship, ministry, and service can thrive.

Membership in the Grace Church Legacy Society
Anyone who makes a bequest to Grace Church qualifies to be a member of the Grace Church Legacy Society. If you would like for us to add your name to the list, please notify the Rector or the Director of Development that you have remembered Grace Church in your will, or complete the membership form linked below. We will be honored to have you join the Legacy Society, and participate in its activities.
How Your Gift Will Sustain Grace Church
Our historic buildings are central to everything we do. Without them, music, worship, outreach, and Christian education would not be possible. Yet the care and maintenance of the fabric and grounds represent a financial challenge greater than any one generation can manage alone. Thus, unless otherwise designated, we invest all bequests to Grace Church in the James Renwick, Jr. Fund, a restricted account dedicated solely to the historic preservation of our sacred spaces. Through careful stewardship of planned gifts in this trust, the Renwick Fund will relieve the burden of building maintenance from the backs of future generations. Those who come after us will be free to raise annual funds to meet the ministry needs of their own day.
Ways to Make a Bequest
Bequests take many forms, including (but not limited to):
- A designated amount or percentage of one’s estate.
- Naming Grace Church as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy, annuity, IRA, or other investment account.
- Planned gifts of real estate or property.
We encourage all who are interested in making a bequest to Grace Church to discuss their plans with trusted legal and financial advisers. It is wise to consider all end-of-life planning in consultation with family members and the clergy, so that all of those close to you are clear about your personal wishes.
Reasons to Join the Grace Church Legacy Society
- To bless future generations with the gift of Grace Church
- For the peace of mind that comes from knowing your resources will sustain an institution that gives life and inspiration
- To participate in the activities of the Society. (We envision an annual dinner, and other events.)
- Because Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive, and God calls us to be generous
