Hospitality Guild
Throughout the year, Grace Church puts on many special events and opportunities for table fellowship. At parish dinners, summer cookouts, and other festive receptions, the Hospitality Guild helps set the table, lay the buffet, and extend the church’s hospitality to members and newcomers alike. If you would like to be on the list of people we reach out to as hospitality volunteers, please contact Travis Kenendy.

Grace Church Women
The Grace Church Women (GCW) is a vibrant blend of all ages, acting as a creative, energetic influence in the parish. Throughout the year, the GCW brings the community together at a variety of fundraisers and events, such as breast cancer education discussions, presentations by the League of Women Voters, Shrove Sunday brunch, summer ice cream socials, and Trivia Night. Funds raised help support our food ministry partner, The Red Door Place, the New York Haiti Project, and House with Heart, among others. The Grace Church Christmas Fair is hosted by the GCW each year in early November. Contact the Rev. Eva Suarez to learn more.

Sunday Classes
May 31 – June 14
Back in the fall, we explored the works of George Herbert, one of the great 17th century poet-priests. Herbert’s poems embrace every shade of the spiritual life, from love and closeness, to anger and despair, to reconciliation and hope. In this three-week extension of the class from the fall, this course will employ Herbert’s poetry to help us relate to God in new and even surprising ways. Led by the Rev. James Morton, we will meet in the chantry on Sunday evenings immediately following the 6 pm service. No advance reading is necessary to participate. Refreshments served.
Canterbury Downtown
On recess for the summer
Canterbury Downtown is an open and inclusive Episcopal campus ministry for students of Manhattan colleges. Students of all religious and cultural backgrounds are invited to share in a faith-based community, connect with one another, and grow together in Christ. During the academic year, students gather for worship, conversation, and a complimentary meal with Canterbury Downtown Chaplain, the Rev. Megan E. Sanders, following the Sunday 6 pm service in the chantry. All college students are welcome.

Mondays
Centering Prayer: 12:15 – 12:45 pm

Centering Prayer
In person and on Zoom, we offer Christian silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of God’s presence. Centering prayer is led by Currie Estreich, MA, Spiritual Direction, the General Theological Seminary. Please see The Weekly Epistle for Zoom access. To practice in person, please come to the southeast corner of the church, just to the right of the organ and behind the pulpit. If you come down the center or north aisle and turn right, you’ll see the spot set up.
From June 22 – September 14, Centering Prayer will meet in the reception room. Please enter through the 802 Broadway gate just north of the main doors of the church.
