Doreen Genevieve Pelle
March 5, 1928 – October 13, 2022

Doreen Genevieve Pelle, nee Crump, was born on March 5, 1928 to Pearl Martin and John Crump on the island of 365 beaches, Antigua.  She married the late Rupert Elderfield George Roach Pelle in 1950 in Harlem. They remained together for 60 years until his passing in 2011. They had six children, Hilary, Stanley, John, Wendy, Steve, and Rupert, Jr.

She served as a teacher at the Foundation Mixed School, a private elementary school better known as Ms. Davis’s school, in Antigua, for approximately 40 years.  She was a member of the Mother’s Union at the St. John’s Anglican Cathedral, her home church.

Doreen immigrated to the United States in 1984 with Rupert and the family. Here, she served as a nurse’s aide for 20 years at the Forest View Nursing home before she retired and chilled at home watching soap operas, consuming politics and world news while making gourmet meals and enjoying her family.

She leaves to mourn her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
